Are you experiencing higher turnover in your classified employee groups? Is the turnover greater in some employee groups than in others? We all know some of the contributing factors - lack of pay increases from the General Assembly, low unemployment, lots of competition in the employment marketplace, retirements, etc. However, if your turnover rate is especially high in certain categories of classified employees, the culprit could be your compensation plan. In this session we will discuss compensation plan needs for: internal equity, external equity, equitable factors for advancing employee pay, methods of rewarding employees without "breaking the bank", methods of gathering data to help establish and monitor a healthy compensation plan and avoiding traps and pitfalls that can sabotage efforts to improve compensation plans.
